ABOUT US

Initially founded in 1996, The Dublin Gospel Choir have truly become Ireland's premier expression of Gospel Music. From their blistering performances in 2007 at Electric Picnic, collaborations with Damien Rice and John Legend among others, a very successful national Irish Tour, and concerts with Rod Stewart at the RDS, the choir just goes from strength to strength. Their album, Moving On was released in November 2006 and sold phenomenally well. Now celebrating their 12th anniversary, one of Ireland’s best-known touring groups, they have performed and recorded with names such as James Brown, John Legend, The Chieftains, Damien Rice, Chris de Burgh, Riverdance, The Hothouse Flowers and Paddy Casey.

In 2007, for the third year running, they performed on the Main Stage at Electric Picnic, and they also featured on a BBC Songs of Praise programme on New Year’s Day 2007 which was broadcast to over 35million viewers worldwide. They performed for 82,000 people at Croke Park, Dublin in February 07 and are currently looking forward to more recording, and another national tour, in Autumn / Winter 2008. They will also perform again at Electric Picnic 08, and with another album planned for 2009, it’s even busier times ahead for the DGC.
